Upcoming Events & Raids
03.16.01 / 5:00pm Eastern - Chardok
03.17.01 to Whenever - Damo's Camping Begurgle
Sometime Next Week - Ixiblat Fer

  03.14.01 - Stuff

Upcoming Raids: Trying again for Chardok Friday night around 5pm eastern. We'd like to try for prince and king for epic drops so bring along friends. Lots of decent loot there and the zone is usually empty. Sorry for the lack of updates lately. The only things of note we've done was a minor clearing of Skyshrine a few weeks back, a small Plane of Growth raid with some other people, a nice Plane of Hate raid with lots of drops and random leveling up by most of our members. We've also added several people to the guild, want to give them a big welcome. I'll be camping Begurgle this weekend for my epic. This means I'll be ready to take down Ixiblat Fer sometime next week. Ixiblat has a fire based AE attack, so be sure to get decent resist gear for the guy. It's not that hard and you should get at least 100 fire resist unbuffed. He also quads for like 575 and becomes ENRAGED near the end of the battle...luckily its possible to charm Wurms and toss them at him over and over so with good resists and some charmers he shouldn't be a problem. Also, its possible to get Ixiblat to spawn multiple times in a row (as long as you have enough clerics to hand in the items) so keep an eye out for guilds who have clerics at this stage and would like some help.

Recruiting Needs: We are currently in need of a high level (Call of Hero capable) mage, several clerics (lvls 45+), several high level enchanters (lvls 50+), and a lvl 45+ rogue. If you know anyone who'd be interested in joining, let Neiwen, Aamaeb or me know.

  02.22.01 - Hate Strategy Guide

Read All This Crap: We will be going to Hate Wednesday, March 7th at 5:30 pm eastern. To ensure that this goes as smoothly as possible, please read this entire guide as well as having any invites read it as well. We'll start off with a nice little map that you should print out.

It is *vital* that everyone arrive at the wiz spires in West Commons at the appointed time or massive delays will result. Please email Sithray your name/class/level if you are coming. Also email him anyone you are bringing along. His e-mail address is sithray@gnomesupremacy.com.

Once every has arrived at the gathering point we will make break in groups. These groups will consist of 1 Druid or Shaman and 3 Melee classes for every Cleric (plus the wizard who will be doing the porting). The rest of the groups will consist of whatever classes are left over. *Everyone* should be uber buffed AND Invised with Improved Invisibility before porting up. The groups with the clerics will port up *last*. The first groups to port up will run straight to the safe spot and *stay* there until a cleric from one of the following groups has successfully camped out. To get to the safe spot, merely follow the route on the map and STAY ON THE WALL. However, do not get too close to the ceiling.

Once you port up, there will be a spite golem at the entrance. He will not see through invisibility so it is safe to run by him to get to the wall. The wizard who ported you, however, will be killed by the golem. Do NOT try to help the wizard or fight the golem. If you are a rogue or a monk, you will immediately camp out once you get to the wall so you can drag corpses for CR later. The rest of the people will run along the wall toward the safe point. If an undead creature agros on you, do not panic or stop or try to fight. Keep running to the safe spot. Once you are at safe spot try to stay alive as long as possible while trying to get monsters OFF the clerics so they can camp out. Once a cleric has successfully camped out, it will be announced and you can try to camp out yourself. Do not worry if you die. That does not matter. ALL that matters is that a cleric camps out at safe spot. KEEP THE CLERICS ALIVE. The clerics will then rez everyone back up to hate once it is clear.

After you have arrived at safe spot and are waiting for the clerics to get there and camp out, STAY ON THE WALL. Do NOT go to the ground, you will just agro more creatures. Once a cleric has camped out, you may do so yourself. If you die, just wait to be rezzed. If you manage to camp out, get on an alt and send the raid leader a message that you made it out. You will then be informed as to when it is safe to log back on. Do *not* log back onto your main until you have been told BY THE RAID LEADER that it is safe.

After agro has been cleared and everyone is either dead or still camped out, the rogues and monks who managed to camp out will be informed to start dragging bodies to safe spot to be rezzed. Once all bodies have been drug the clerics will log back on and begin rezzes. If only one cleric successfully camped out, a second cleric will immediately be rezzed and instructed to camp out to act as back up cleric if something goes wrong. The remaining rez order will be as follows: rez number one goes to an enchanter for clarity, rez number two goes to a bard for mana song, any clerics that died will then be rezzed followed by tanks and then the remaining classes.

Once everyone is rezzed, one cleric will camp out for safety until enough of the plane has been cleared that huge trains are not a possibility. One rogue and one monk will also be given the responsibility *not* to die so they can drag corpses if something goes horribly wrong. Permanent groups will then be made. Group one will consist of a cleric, the puller, the main assist tank, the highest level enchanter (who will be doing all the mezzing), the shaman (who will be casting malos, backup healing, etc), and a shadow knight (who will mainly be keeping mobs off the healers). Group two will consist of a cleric, the secondary assist (if the main assist dies), the next highest level enchanter (who will be doing all the hasting/clarities and backup mezzes if the first enchanter is in trouble), the person responsible for snares, and two other random classes. The remaining groups will try to be as balanced as possible.

During group forming and initial pulls, everyone MUST stay on the wall. Once pulls begin it is absolutely VITAL to not let walls get near the ceiling. This means that everyone will stay as close together as possible. If a mob gets near the ceiling BACK DOWN. If you do not do this you risk training the entire raid with mobs from upstairs.

Once the immediate area has been cleared, the raid leader will announce for everyone to move down to the floor and the rest of the zone will be cleared. Now we'll start with a few rules for the raid:

1. The /shout channel will be used by the raid leader and to announce loot, ONLY. Continuing violations will result in a warning. If you are not the raid leader or announcing loot, please use /ooc only.

2. The only person who should ever loot a kill is the group leader of the party that received the experience. If you are not the group leader and you loot a body, you will be given a warning.

3. You should *never* cast on or attack a monster unless you have first /assist the main assist or the secondary assist (if the main is dead). If you ever break mez you will be given a warning.

4. Do not complain about lack of experience or anything else for that matter, especially over zone wide channels. Please keep all complaints to yourself or to tells. Negative attitudes spread easily and tend to ruin raids.

5. Never go exploring on your own. If you leave the rest of the raiding party, you will immediately be kicked from the raid.

6. Announce all heals over /auction. All healers should have /auction on. The rest can turn it off if they choose.

7. All healers should have a hotkey set up with line number one as "/assist (name of main assist)" and line number two as "/assist". This will set your target to whoever the current mob is attacking. If this person is near death and no heal has been announced over /auction for him, heal him and announce it. All healers should also have a similar button set up, but for the secondary assist for when things go wrong. Constantly check these two buttons if your own group is not in danger.

8. All tanks should have a /assist hotkey for both the main and secondary assists.

9. Everyone should have partical effects and pc names turned off to reduce lag. These settings can be changed in display options

10.If you are issued two warnings, you will be asked to leave the raid.

I apologize if these rules sound too harsh, but the cost in time, money, and deaths to successfully enter Hate is far too great to have the raid ruined by someone goofing around or not paying attention. Those who violate the rules will be asked to leave (either by gating out, being translocated, or camping and being ported out once the raid is over). Now for some guildlines for the key people on the raid:

The main assist should never switch targets. Once the main assist has chosen a target, he will announce it over /shout through use of a hotkey like "/shout I am fighting %t, assist me!". The secondary assist and everyone else will then /assist off the main assist and proceed to kill the mob. The main assist's target order should be as follows: 1) Unmezzable Mobs (I believe only spite golems cannot be mezzed, but ask the main enchanter to be sure), 2) Clerics of Innorruk (They will heal), 3) Everything else. It is also important to stun/bash clerics as much as possible once they get low because they will complete heal.

If you are an enchanter, please be aware what can and cannot be mezzed. Also, please announce all mobs that have been tashed or mezzed over /shout. It is also a good idea to announce incoming mezzes so everyone will know to get off it before mez hits.

Druids and Shamans should announce snares and malos sticks over /shout and should try to stay above 40% mana at all times for backup heals (If you don't have Superior Heal or better, please buy it before coming =).

Short notes on fighting Maestro and Inny in case we get that far. Maestro is a bard and will AoE lifetap. It is therefore vital to have two groups spaced pretty far apart from each other. One melee only, the other caster only. Casters should NOT nuke until the raid leader has announced for nukes to be cast over shout. Again, this is because Maestro AoE lifetaps and we don't want everyone to run out of mana with Maestro nearly dead and have him tap himself back up to full. If Maestro ever leaves the melee group and starts attacking the casters, all of the melees should move to the Maestro area until they have reagroed him. Once the melees have his attention again, the casters should move from the caster area to where the melees previously were. So the two groups will basically be switching spots. This should be repeated each time the Maestro attacks the casters.

The method for taking down Inny is very different. Inny AoE Gravity Fluxes people all over the zone, so it is vital that you bring along high magic resist gear for this battle and that casters keep their backs to a wall at all times. If you somehow manage to get Fluxed away from the battle area and don't know where you are, immediately do a /loc and write down your location. Sit there for a bit until you are sure you are not aggroed by mobs. If you aren't aggroed, it is probably safe to run back to the battle. *However* never never never ever ever ever train the Inny fighters with more mobs. Just sit there and die if you're being attacked.

Well that's pretty much it. Send me an email if you have anything to add. I can be reached at stratosoft@hotmail.com.

  02.21.01 - Skyshrine Still = Owned

Skyshrine Part 2: Gukaz, Ultrazach, Toesy and I teamed up with some Hand of Chaos and Order of Oblivion people late last night for some dragon killing deep in Skyshrine. Yes, we killed the Statue. Yes, we went through the maze. Yes, we got horribly lost after the maze. Yes, we were scared out of our respective under clothings. Yes, we did finally find our way out. Yes, we did have to go very near Yelinak's chamber. Yes, we did get loots of phatness.

      KIN LORE NECKLACE ( 0.1 WT, +45 MANA +8 WIS +3 SV CR/DR/PR +5 SV FR/MR ): Grats Random CC Druid
      Diamond: Grats Someone
      Improved IVU: Grats Again Someone
Improved Invis: Someone Was Rolling In The Loot

Boy did I pass out when I saw that necklace. Too bad we didn't have anyone who could wear it. Some Cohort Druid who randomly logged on took it off our hands though. Big grats to her. We also had some various Guardian armor drop on the night too. Don't really remember too much though. Nothing dropped off the big Laoch Whatsisname we took down even though he was somewhere around 55, was a paladin (damn loh), and had at least 20k hit points. We also took down some damn red cubes that were hitting for 200+. Pretty good for 11 people all in all, I'd have to say. Oh yeah, pictures.

Someone ninja'd the damned Laoch before I could get a nice booty shot of him. That was upsetting. Rest of the night was loads of fun, however, and we *must* kill everything up there by ourselves. You guys who couldn't make it really don't know how much fun you're missing. This is by far my favorite zone *ever*.

  02.19.01 - Skyshrine = Owned

Adventures in Skyshrine: Pretty much had a spur of the moment raid on Skyshrine Sunday night. It was several people's first time deep into Velious, so it took a while to get organized, and the group setup wasn't really capable of splitting experience even between the two groups we maintained most of the time (for that I apologize), but we were able to get *very* deep into the zone for so few people.

After spending some time getting trained on near the entrance while fighting Guardians and Sentries, we were able to get a steady killing cycle going and had the following armors drop:

Guardian Pauldrons ( 2 WT, 14 AC, +10 HP, +4 STR, +2 DEX, +6 SV MAGIC): Grats Zaggel
      Guardian Arms ( 3.5 WT, 12 AC, +15 MANA, +15 HP, +5 STR, +4 DEX): Grats Gwyndolyn
      Guardian Helm ( AC 11 +5 STA, +5 WIS, +20 HP, +20 MANA, +6 DR, +6 PR WT: 3.0): Grats Again Gwyndolyn
      Guardian Helm ( AC 11 +5 STA, +5 WIS, +20 HP, +20 MANA, +6 DR, +6 PR WT: 3.0): Grats Rot =)

Strangely, we had *no* Sentry Armor or Robes drop the whole night. Either way, when we left the golem area, the real fun began. After pulling what seemed to be endless jello cubes, we came upon a huge, dragon-sized golem standing on a platform named A Large Velium Statue. Well we dove right in and started attacking with seven people. Turns out this guy was level 53, had 10k hit points, and RAMPAGED (quad attacks to everyone in front of him). After a *really* long battle, we managed to take him down with no deaths. Unfortunately, I did not get any screenshots of this guy. We'll gets some pics of him next time we go in to kill him =).

After taking down the statue, we proceeded into the dragon area and took down several named wurms and wyverns:

We killed lots of these guys with just five people and got some pretty good items including a Coldstone Wreath (AC 3 +5 WIS, +20 MANA) that went to Neiwen, a Diamond that will go to Valmantia whenever she raises her Jewelcrafting skill ;), 2 Shadow Knight spells that will go to Zaggel (can't remember which ones at them moment...), an Improved Invis to Undead Wizard spell that went to Toesy, and a Great Divide Wizard Teleport spell. Huge thanks to everyone who came, and huge congratulations to everyone who received items or spells. We definately need to go back here and clean this place out. Some of the rarer items that drop off the stuff we were fighting (Haste boots and 13/23 1hs weapons come to mind) are amazing. Also I want to extend a massive thank you to Neiwen and Toesy who spent a very long time porting people over to Velious and leading them to Skyshrine.

Upcoming Raids: SolB has been changed to Tuesday night. We'll be gathering there around 6 pm Eastern to slaughter some bugs, fire giants, and efreeti lords. We'll need as many of you as possible to show up for this. Thanks in advance. Also, Sithray has posted on the boards that we have been invited to a Naggy slaying wednesday night along with Equinox/Sacred Silver Blades/The Relentless. I'm not sure of the time on this, but if you are 52 or below, I'm sure they'd appreciate our help. Lots of people in the guild still don't have sebilis keys, so the Thursday night raid to pick some up is still on I guess. We'd appreciate someone who knows the quest to come along with us, also.

I don't think anything has been planned for this weekend, so if you have any ideas or suggestion, message Neiwen, Aamaeb, Zaggel, or me in game and we'll work something out. I know both Gukaz and I are itching to go back to Skyshrine with a larger force :).

I think its also time to start scheduling a Plane raid. Personally, I am much more familiar with Hate than Fear and would feel safer going there, but if someone in guild has a lot of Fear experience and wouldn't mind leading a raid there, I'm all for it. Either way, we'd need at least three great groups to do well in either zone. This means we need three clerics , two enchanters (we currently have one), one shaman, one rogue (for corpse dragging/scouting), several tanks, and various other classes to be successful. A raid like this would most likely last several days, and would result in several deaths for most everyone involved, so we'd need to be prepared going in to stay a while. Again, we'd need everyone's participation. Please post on the message boards what times/dates you think would be good for everyone and we'll work something out.
